The story of Ascoli Bottoni begins in 1903, when Umberto Ascoli acquired a small button factory in Trezzo sull'Adda before bringing the business to Milan. There, surrounded by skilled artisans, the company laid the foundations of a tradition built on craftsmanship and quality. By the 1930s, Ascoli Bottoni was supplying more than 3,500 haberdasheries across Europe.

As war approached, a new chapter began under Umberto, who succeeded his father Vittorio in leading the company. From its headquarters in Via Bastia, Milan, Ascoli Bottoni expanded rapidly, growing to more than 300 employees while its vans became a familiar sight on Italian roads, transporting buttons alongside the necessities of wartime.

Working alongside his father Vittorio, the young Gianfranco entered the company at a time when fashion itself was changing. As prêt-à-porter began replacing traditional tailoring, he embraced this new direction, collaborating with emerging designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Pierre Cardin to develop Ascoli's first collections.

The generational journey continued in 1985, when Silvia and Monica joined the family business. Monica brought a renewed creative vision through innovative collections, while Silvia strengthened the company's technological and operational foundations, supporting its expansion into international markets.
