Ascoli Bottoni is an historical company founded by Umberto Ascoli who takes over a button factory in Trezzo sull’Adda, just outside Milan. Shortly afterwards, the company, which moves its operations in the city, starts surrounding itself with talented artisans. By the 30ies it reaches an operational level and becomes supplier of 3500 haberdasheries spread across the European continent.
2015
In 2015 the 6th generation of the family joins the company, accompanied by a new team of young creative designers and sales representative, both in Italy and Asia.
The company rapidly adapts to the market’s requests and everchanging demands, implementing a new technological department : ASCOLI LAB. Thanks to this new laboratory the company is quickly capable of developing new prototypes of all sorts, and joins in a strong partnership technologically evolved companies in Asia.
Creativity, technology, quality and suistainability are always more the key elements onto which the company is focusing for the future.

With the Second World War looming ahead, Vittorio’s son Umberto, takes the reins of the company. Vittorio establishes the headquarters in Via Bastia, Milano, where the dyeing and finishing department are currently active. The company is revolutionized by him, employing 300 workers under his leadership and invading Italy’s streets with vans carrying buttons as well as wartime necessities.
2003
Monica and Silvia, with the urge of globalization upon their company decide to open a new branch “Ascoli Asia” in Hong Kong. This new company is established to bring the Italian operating model in the Asia-pacific region, where an efficient and responsive structure allows for any and all manufacturing requirements in the Asian region.

In 1985, Silvia and Monica, the two daughters of Gianfranco begin the same rein-shifting transition of the previous generation. Monica brings new trends to the industry, creating new and completely innovative button collections. Silvia, with a degree from Bocconi, works on the restructuring of the technological and operational side of the company, which has seen continual evolution and expansion towards international frontiers.

Alongside with Vittorio, his young son Gianfranco immediately established himself as a key figure and he is very fast jumping onto the emerging prêt-à-porter trend. This was a fresh start in the world of fashion with industries and boutiques replacing sartorial shops and the birth of the first big names in fashion. It was the young Gianfranco, who in the face of a shifting industry engaged with up and coming designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Pierre Cardin to design Ascoli’s first collections.
